Printed Ceramics

I have this underlying desire to spread my textile design into homewares, so I have started drawing some ideas for printed ceramics and this idea is one of them. I drew a mirrored repeat and played around with it in illustrator...

...I can imagine them further being printed onto tea cups and other homewares...gets me a little excited! I just have to find some place to actually make them!

Some Birthday Owls...

I've spent a little bit of the bank holiday doing some drawing and I thought since it was my both my brother's birthdays coming up (Rich and bro-in-law Dave!) I would send them some birthday owls...I think it may have something to do with the amount of Harry Potter I have been watching with Matt... Twit Twooooo!

Skin

I created a few prints for my friend Solveig, this is one of them, it ended up looking a little ugly, but for some reason I like it. It reminds me of wiggly worms. You should check my friend's collection out: www.eltonjacobsen.com she is awesome.

Graphic Hug

I feel so bad I haven't been on for ages, but unfortunately the tolls of work have made me a busy bee. I have however, been asked by the lovely people of Graphic Hug (www.graphichug.com) , to be a guest blogger, it made me very happy and honoured, thank you Ryan!

As I haven't uploaded much recently, this is a little doodle, playing with some good ole' Muji pens whilst watching a bit of 'Breaking Bad'- it's like an illustrated version of a quilt I guess.

Pencil action...

It has been a while since I have strayed from my 0.01 fine point black ink pens...I want to do a series of landscapes. This is one of them, it's unfinished but I like this idea to continue on to a series. This one will be titled Sugar Hill.

the one that never made it in...

This little Doe is not going to make it into my alphabet. He was actually the first animal I drew when I thought of the idea, but for some reason he wasn't the right thing. I still like him though and I thought he deserved a posting.

For Schuster's Birthday

I stuck this in a really cute vintage frame that I found at the Antiques Market in DUMBO. I love that place. Happy Birthday Schuster, channelin' happy thoughts! x

The National Geo Sketchbook

Alphabetically I will draw an endangered/unusual animal. This will hopefully end up as an address book that I can sell...

I am thinking this tree is looking a little lonely. I had an idea to work on a print repeat with trees, but after this one, I couldn't handle drawing any more bushes...anyway, it felt flat so I left him alone.

Sunday, January 18th.

I've decided to start a blog to encourage me to work more, this way I can upload my drawings, thoughts, photographs to inspire me in the year ahead. To be completely honest, sitting in my office and answering emails is becoming a dirty habit. As she says in
Strictly Ballroom,
" A life lived in fear is a life half lived".

Welcome 2009.

Also, this weather reminds me of when I lived in Copenhagen and seeing the children tobogganing outside the MOMA. It is cold outside.
